Karuna Jain, the experienced wicketkeeper-batsman, has been left out of the limited-overs leg of India women’s home series against South Africa. Sushma Verma, the 22-year-old who kept wickets in the recent Test against South Africa, is expected to make her one-day debut during the three ODIs which are part of the ICC Women’s Championship.The 15-member squad also includes offspinner Sneh Rana, who last played for India in January, and teenager Deepti Sharma, who is yet to play her first international game.Mithali Raj will continue to lead the side which is looking for its first win in the Championship after kicking off their campaign with defeats to England in August. South Africa are currently in fourth place after having shared a series with Sri Lanka in October. The first of the one-dayers, all of which will be held in Bangalore, is on November 24.Raj will lead the squad in the lone Twenty20 as well.
